Adiba Ighodaro has developed investment experience across the growth markets over a 30 year career with Actis (formerly CDC). Appointed West Africa Head in 2000, Adiba established Actis’ Nigeria office together with an early investment portfolio. From 2004, Adiba spent her time forming new and strategic institutional relationships for Actis and raising funds from across the Americas, the Gulf, Asia and Africa. This involved moving to New York in 2012 to establish and manage Actis’ NY office. Having stepped down from the Actis partnership in January 2021, in addition to other NED roles, Adiba acts as a senior advisor to Actis, supporting senior strategic client engagement as well as Energy and Real Estate investment activities in Africa. As an advocate for inclusion and diversity, Adiba initiated the active management of Actis’ I&D agenda. She also established and was the founding chair of the Actis Female Network. Adiba is a member of the Washington-based EMPEA Africa Council and a Trustee on the Board of the English National Opera. She is a former non-executive director of Old Mutual Plc (a FTSE 100 company at the time). Adiba is a passionate mentor of women and young adults.
Adiba Ighodaro graduated in Law from King’s College, University of London, and was called to the Bar in both the UK (Gray’s Inn) and Nigeria. She also holds a C Dip in Accounting and Finance (ACCA).
