NOW AN ONLINE WEBINAR
Join BWAM and Halliford Partners for a panel discussion on ‘Avoiding Tokenism in the Recruitment Process
Merriam-Webster defines tokenism as “the practice of doing something (such as hiring a person who belongs to an under-represented group) only to prevent criticism and give the appearance that people are being treated fairly”. Tokenism can lead to hiring for the wrong reasons or fulfilling quotas using methods that do not achieve inclusion and belonging. This panel will discuss what tokenism looks like in the recruitment process and how leaders and line managers can implement recruitment strategies that address it.
The panellists will also share insight on how to identify opportunities to work for an organisation that is looking to make genuine strategic changes to improve diversity & inclusion and avoid those that are simply box-checking.
